The 25th annual Kite-Flying Festival will take place at the Israel Museum on 17/8/20, from 10:30-20:00.

Museum entry is free for children (up to 17 years), for soldiers doing compulsory military service and for those doing National Service.

Steimatzky is running a summer book fair at three different venues: ZOA in Tel Aviv, Mediatheque in Holon and Beit Yehudit in Jerusalem. At the fair, books will be sold for 10-30 NIS.

There will be a daily story hour at the Tel Aviv and Jerusalem venues and an art and craft workshop at the Tel Aviv fair.

The “It’School” Back to School fair will take place this week at the Convention Center in Tel Aviv.

The fair will showcase the latest innovations and all the equipment needed for the new school year at special prices. In addition, there will be shows, art and craft sessions and activities, as well as inflatables, street performances, huge-sized games, challenging activities, Bakugan games and more that will run for free. While the children are having fun, parents will be able to attend educational lectures.

The fair will take place from 10-12 August, 10:00-22:00 daily.
Entry is FREE until 14:00; after 14:00 entry will cost 15 NIS.

The annual children’s event at Azrieli Mall – Children’s Mall – will take place this week, Tuesday-Thursday, 10/8 – 12/8.

The mall will become a special school with shows, performances, activities, circuses, and more. There will be classes with magicians, fairies and sailors, and children will learn about life in the North Pole. Children will also be able to receive a report card in the principal’s office.

All the activities will be FREE.

Home Center are holding a Do-It-Yourself exhibition from 1/8 – 3/8 at the Israel trade Fairs and Convention Center in Tel Aviv. Opening hours: 11:00-22:00.

At the exhibition there will be infomation and demonstration stands, competitions, a range of activities for children (sponsored by Toys R Us) and designer stands.

The Tel-Aviv-Yaffo Municipality together with with the Israeli Opera are continuing their annual tradition of open performances at Ganei Yehoshua park. This year they will be presenting the opera Carmen, featuring the best and famous opera stars.

The event will take place on Thursday 29/7/10 at 21:00, at Ganei Yehoshua park, Tel Aviv. Entrance from 19:00.

The Israel Museum has been renovated a today was reopened! This week there will be special events and festivities in the museum open to the public, including musical performances and various activities for all ages. The special events will be offered for no extra cost to museum visitors.

Tomorrow, Tuesday 27/7, there will be a concert by Shalom Hanoch and  on Thursday 29/7 there will be a concert by Yehudit Ravitz; no extra charge for the performances.

Entry to the museum for children (up to age 17) will be FREE tomorrow and during the entire month of August.

Next week, Dizengoff Center will open an entertainment area that will offer free activities for children and parents. The area will be open every day from 10:00-16:00 and entry will be free. There will be inflatables, things to climb on and other attractions.

Parents will also be pampered with free treatments from the Ravit Asaf college of professional make-up, and mother’s will enjoy individual make-up sessions. In addition, mothers will get 25% off all make-up from Ravit Asaf.

The event will take place from 25/7/10 until 6/8/10 at Dizengoff Center.

The annual Accessories Fair will be held this week at Binyanei HaUma in Jerusalem (after four years in Tel Aviv only). The special market for accessories will run for three days and among the items for sale (often with a good discount) will be: shoes, bags, belts, jewelry and more.

The International Puppet Theater and Film Festival has been taking place in Holon every summer since 1995. It is a festive event, including a colorful fair, outdoor workshops, stalls, performances and a huge outdoor café, held around the unique Israeli Puppet Center complex.

The festival takes place this year from 21/7/10 until 25/7/10 in Holon.

Strauss Ice Cream is hosting a special ice cream event, along the theme of “Magnum Gold”, at the Tel Aviv Port. The area is decorated like a secure vault and the public are invited to enjoy a range of hand-made Magnum ice creams (not available in stores) that are being made on the spot, as well as performances of modern dance combined with acrobatics.
